No one, upon meeting Aziraphale, would call him dangerous.
They would call him gentle, perhaps. Slightly bewildered, certainly. Soft, without a doubt.
But, as someone on this here hellsite said, Aziraphale has the appearance of a librarian, and the soul of a whore. And I for one have the receipts for that statement.
For the longest time, he has put the safety of humans before Heaven's orders. Job's children deserved to live, and he lied about it to the archangels. Humanity survived because Aziraphale put his flaming sword in their hands, and then lied about it to GOD. He has been in a close relationship with a demon of hell for 6000 years, and lied about it. He pretty much got the Apocalypse cancelled by splitting hairs on a technicality and standing against Satan himself. (After having actively tried to subvert Heaven's will for 11 years.) He hides Jim, no questions asked, and lies about it to Heaven.
Oh, and. he starts a literal war by using his halo to barbeque the demons in his bookshop.
Aziraphale, while still bound by the desperate hope that Heaven is fundamentally good, has done everything in his power to stop them from hurting humans, and hurting Crowley and himself.
Aziraphale, in the elevator next to the Metatron, is a angel who no longer harbors that hope of a peaceful resolution.
This is an angel who accepted the coffee, because he knew the alternative was death.
This is an angel who now knows that Heaven does not truly care.
We see him smile. This is a smile we have never seen on his face before. It is an awful, terrifying smile. It is, rather, a smile that stems from a flinty resolve, when all is already lost.
It does not reach his eyes.
Aziraphale has just given up everything he loves.
Who is Aziraphale without Crowley? Without his bookshop? Without sushi, Shostakovich, tea? Without Crowley? Without hope?
A bitch you don't want to cross, that's who.

The last scene, the smile during the end credits, is fucking terrifying because that is not Aziraphale anymore. That is the Archangel Supreme. That's an angel who is all too aware that the Metatron is not his friend. An angel who has nothing to lose anymore. An angel heading to a place full of people who want him annihilated. An angel sitting down on the table to play the most dangerous high-stakes chess game in existence.
That is an angel going to war.
